- Safety
- Safety is a foundational value at Intrepid Potash. It drives our decision-making process at all levels in the organization. We strive to have one of the safest work environments. In fact, Intrepid's mining operations maintain an injury incident rate significantly below the national average for underground non-metal mining. Employees at Intrepid are expected to actively take control of safety-up to and including the authority (and expectation) to shut down an operation. No production goal is worth the risk of a personal injury. Several of our operations have received prestigious safety awards: our West Plant in New Mexico, for example, is a four-time recipient of the NMA/MSHA Sentinels of Safety Award.
