Intrepid Potash, Inc. produces magnesium chloride brine at its
Wendover, Utah facility. The brine is used as a dust control and
soil stabilization agent on dirt and gravel road surfaces. Magnesium
chloride is a hygroscopic compound that attracts moisture from the
air and resists evaporation. It binds fine dust and aggregate
to keep road surfaces stable and dust free. This brine is marketed
exclusively as Roadsaver by Envirotech Services, Inc.
Intrepid also produces de-sulfanated magnesium chloride brine for
use in the winter highway de-icing market. In addition to the
regular de-sulfanated brine, Intrepid also produces de-sulfanated
brine with a corrosion inhibitor added. These brines are marketed
exclusively as Meltdown and Meltdown AP by Envirotech Services, Inc.
Finally, Intrepid produces a highly concentrated de-sulfanated
magnesium chloride brine called Liquid Gold. This brine has multiple
uses in the chemical industry.
Delivery is available by rail or truck.
